LET'S TALK SOME SPORTS.

Baseball:

It seems that half my life has been spent suffering through the annual collapse of the Angels but maybe this year???

Went to all four of this weeks games with the A?s and Wednesday evening was magic. The team passed out 9/11 commemorative T-shirts before the game and 40,000 fans started twirling them in abandoned joy as the Angels scored 4 runs in the 4th to even-up the score. When the ?X? factor put down that suicide squeeze bunt, the place went crazy.

I predict the Angels will win their division and play the Twins in the first round of the playoffs. The A?s, as the wild card, will have to play the Yanks and that will be a barnburner to be sure.

American League Championship Series: Angels ?Vs- Yanks??Angels in 6. Hey, it could happen??.right Morbius?

Dodgers will not get in as the Giants have more heart, better pitching, and a great manager.

Boxing:

Saw a great fight last night as Oscar took out Vargas in the 11th and showed the world what a great fighter he is. If you missed this bout, you missed one of the best fights in many, many years.

Trinidad will come out of his short retirement and take a huge payday for a re-match with the Golden Boy. Oscar, you showed a lot of heart last night and a lot of class as well.

Fishing:

After coming up empty for many trips, we finally hooked-up with some Yellowtail yesterday in the Farnsworth Bank area (2-3 miles west of Catalina Island). Got 7 of them in the 25-35 Lbs. range.

BOUT TIME!!!

College Football:

It?s real tough being Irish and a Michigan Alumni this time of the year. Hell of a game yesterday?.coulda gone either way. So now, I?m rooting for ND to go all the way this year. Prolly wont happen.

Pro Football:

Keep your eyes on David Carr this season.

NASCAR:

Jeff Gordon again!

Baseball is nothing if it is not tradition. Fall is close-by. Our tradition is to pick apples and can sauce and freeze pie fillings. While we do this tedious work, we turn on the TV and watch the Angel's fold. I can't remember when it wasn't this way. Trouble with this team is it has no respect for tradition. [img]wink.gif[/img]

College football:

"So now, I?m rooting for ND to go all the way this year." You think North Dakota is going all the way. Now that is a bet I will take.

Soc, you went to UM too? My divided loyalty is when Michigan plays Wisconsin. The best thing I can say about Donna Shalala is that UW football recovered from its 30 year funk during her tenure as provost.

OK Mr. Socrates, I kept my eye on David Carr yesterday, or at least I tried to. It became difficult to spot him with all of those Charger's laying on top.

He was sacked nine times, intercepted twice and completed only six of 25 passes for 87 yards.

What should we be looking for here? Paramedics? Welcome to the NFL David, this aint Fresno Toto.

Most of my family are U of M grads and I'm flying into DTW this Friday for Saturday's game with Utah. Should be a welcome match up after the game with ND.

Yes Jokester, I too had problems keeping an eye on Mr. Carr this past Sunday. Give him time.
